The weekend with the Hornsmühlen Eventing couldn’t have been better. Two days nice weather, exciting cross country sport, shining faces and best condition for riders and horses. „The cross country in Hornsmühlen is very all-round“, said Peter Thomsen. „There is the lake, the river, hills and forest – that are so many different effects, which make this event so unique.“

In the CCI2*-S One Day-Event, the Gutshof-Ei Cup 2019, 99 starters from twelve (!) nations were fighting in two sections about the win. Jeanette von Schiller won the first section with 35,0 penalties. She was riding the Holsteiner gelding Choko out of Carrizo and stayed faultless in showjumping and cross country. Second lay Pauline Knorr with Wilbert BO (37,6). Third became Sven Lux with Amerina Sue (41,6). „The Hornsmühlen Eventing has made such a great development“, said Jeanette von Schiller. „And it was so much fun to ride the cross country.“

In the junior/young rider section Maja Kozian-Fleck and Saviola became first (38,0 penalties). Tom Nikolas Körner were second with Chip Chap. On third place lay Paula Reinstorf with Ilara (40,5). The cross country course was 3120 meters long, riders and horses had to jump 25 obstacles. Course designer was Fried Schwien together with Tassilo Brenninkmeyer, Martin Zastrow and the organisers Axel Behmann and Gerd Hamann. They had create a new routing, which caters for a completely new set up of the course. The biggest challenge for riders and horses were the water complex in the lake Stocksee, a massive strunk on a hillside, a ditch with a hedge and two open corners. The level of difficulty was a little bit higher than in the former years. The optimum time was a challenge in addition. Only six riders caught it.

The test for the five and six year old horses (level L) saw the Finnish rider Lotte Palmgren and the six year old Holsteiner mare Fleure out of Casquetto on the first place. They got the highest mark of the day: 9,2. Andreas Dibowski won the other section with the Oldenburger stallion Quizzle out of Quo Vadis (9,0). Ben Leuwer lay in front in the test for the four to six year old horses. He rode the five year old Holsteiner gelding Qrumble out of Quantum (8,2). In the second section there were two first places: Balazs Kaizinger from Hungary with Capitano out of Cavallieri xx and Marco Krüger with the five year old OS gelding Capricorn out of Cador (8,3). Both tests were a qualification for the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf.
