International eventing at Pentecost
12th edition of the Hornsmühlen Eventing in Schleswig-Holstein on 19th May and 20th May with a CIC*
von Laura Becker
International, exciting and familiar – Hornsmühlen eventing is one of the most popular stations in the eventing season in Northern Germany.
And the countdown has started: On 19th and 20th May riders and visitors can expect an eventful weekend with an international One-Day-Event – the Gutshof-Ei Cup 2018 on Sunday. Course Designer Fried Schwien and chief organiser Axel Behmann have created a course through the scenic landscape, including a water combination with a jump straight in a lake, a coffin, a sunken road and tricky small elements. They ran the course in part with the new Swedish MIM-Safety-System for a higher security standard. The program on 19th May covers two tests for young horses, including a qualification for the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf.
The organisers Axel Behmann and Gerd Hamann are looking forward to welcoming a huge number of participants. The German top athletes and olympic riders Sandra Auffarth, Peter Thomsen and Kai Rüder as well as Julia Mestern, Beeke Jankowski, Marina Köhncke, Nicolai Aldinger, Andreas Dibowski, Malin Petersen and Louise Svensson Jähde like the Hornsmühlen Eventing very much. The event is sponsored by the company „Gutshof Ei“ and supported by the riding club Malente-Eutin and the equestrian association Schleswig-Holstein.
